Lida and I spent four months in Japan during the fall of 2005. I taught a course at the Japan Center for Michigan Universities (JCMU) in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture. We enjoyed the beauty of Hikone and Kyoto. Above all, we cherish the extraordinary warmth, support and help we received from our Japanese friends and the staff of JCMU after an accident.
