JCMU situated on the shore of Lake Biwa
Japan Center for Michigan Universities (JCMU) is situated on the shore of Lake Biwa in close vicinity of the Prince Hotel (tall white tower). The facility of JCMU (with green roofs) consists of two buildings: one for classrooms and offices, another for dormitory.

View from my office at JCMU
This is the best view from an office I have ever had in my career. Beauty of the lake and mountains on the horizon are extraordinary.
With my students at JCMU
It was a very good team both in terms of quality, intelligence and in terms of mix of students coming from different universities and representing different majors. All of them have been fascinated by Japan and its culture.

Our friends and hosts upon arrival to Kansai Airport
We were lucky that our Japanese friends from Tsu, Mie Prefecture, received us at the Kansai Airport and accompanied us (by train) to our new residence in Hikone. Junko-san and her daughter Keiko had to travel several hours to see us upon arrival to Japan and had to travel back home in the middle of the night. Amazing.
